What are you hearing?
A composition is a musical work. A kriti is one form of composition. A rendition is one artist’s performance of it. No two renditions need sound alike.
A ragam comes through in the phrases a musician sings and the way notes are shaped, including gamakas. Its scale is only a starting point for listening.
